Insecurity

DEFINITION
Insecurity: is when a person does not feel secure about something. This happens when they don't like some part of themselves.

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?

When God made everyone He made him or her exactly the way He wanted to. When we feel insecure about something it's as if we are telling God that He made something wrong. When we feel insecure we are saying our perspective is more important than God's. We trust our view of who we are versus the views of the Creator. We need to see ourselves the way that god sees us. God has created you in his image. Genesis 1:27 "So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God Ge created them; male and female He created them."

God is always think about you. Psalm 139:17 "How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered." God cares about every area of your life, and wants to be there for you. 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting the whole of your care [all of your anxieties, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully." God loves you and there is noting that can ever make Him stop. Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angles nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither heights nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." God has created you with a purpose. Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago."

HOW DO I APPLY IT?
Well, the first step is to live in the light of how God sees you. When the thoughts of insecurity creeps in allow God's word to speak louder (you may want to memorize the verses listed above). Even if that means you read or say the scripture out loud. Do it even when you don't believe all the way. Jesus died so that we could have the chance to be secure in Him So live that out.

WHAT’S NEXT ?
You need to talk with someone about what's been going on in your life. The more you allow people in, the less room you five to isolation. If you need someone to talk do not hesitate to email bsmmont@gmail.com.
